CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Last date of Abstract Submission is 15th October 2023.

The Scientific Committee of the ACBTA 2024 cordially invites researchers, students and practitioners in the field of CBT and Mental Health to submit their abstracts for Open Paper/Poster sessions, skills classes, symposia and panel discussions. Abstracts should align with the congress theme and subthemes, which are as follows:
THEME: Cognitive Behavioural Therapies across Illness & Health: Advances, Challenges & Way Forward.

SUB-THEME TRACKS:

  • CBT for Psychological Traumatic Life Events
  • CBT for Mental Disorders and Specific Illnesses
  • Cultural Adaptation of CBT and Current Trends
  • Standards in CBT Practice, Training, and Supervision

Abstract Guidelines for Open Papers / Posters:

  • Type: Conceptual or Empirical
  • Language: English
  • Format: MS Word
  • Font Size: 12 (Times New Roman)
  • Line Spacing: 1.5
  • Word Limit: 250-300 words

Abstract Format:

  • Title of Study
  • Names of Authors with Designation and Institutional Affiliation
  • Contact Details
  • Aim and Methodology
  • Summary of Results
  • Conclusions
  • Keywords

Abstract Guidelines for Skills Classes, Symposia & Panel Discussions:

SKILLS CLASSES: These will be 90 - 120 minute focused hands-on skills building trainings on topics of current and future interest based on the Congress thematic areas. These will have no additional fee and will be scheduled within the main Congress Program and will have a minimum number of 10 and maximum number of 30 participants. Abstracts for skills classes must include – Rationale, Description, Learning objectives, Recommended readings, About the presenter and Eligibility criteria for participants (if any).

SYMPOSIA: These will be 90 minute group presentations on a topic of current and future interest based on the Congress thematic areas. They will include a chairperson (a senior CBT practitioner / Mental health professional of repute) and 3 or 4 individual speakers (early or mid-career professionals engaged in research) and a discussant. Abstracts for symposia must include – Background, Description, Names, designations and affiliations of the Chair, Speakers and Discussant as well as short description of individual topics.

PANEL DISCUSSION: These will be 90 minute group discussions / debates on a topic of current and future interest based on the Congress thematic areas. They will include a Panel Chair cum moderator as well as 3 or 4 individual speakers. Abstracts for Panels must include – Background, Names, designations and affiliations of the Chair and Speakers as well as basic questions / points that will guide the discussion.

PLEASE NOTE: Only registered delegates are permitted to make presentations during this mega offline event. The last date for abstract submission is Ocotober 15th, 2023. Received submissions will be reviewed by Scientific Committee members & the decision – accepted, rejected, accepted with modification - will be communicated to the concerned author(s). The Committee will also invite authors of suitable abstracts for full paper submissions. Details of full paper submissions will be communicated to authors in due time. We encourage participants to adhere to the guidelines mentioned above for a smooth submission process. The Scientific Committee’s decision on acceptance of abstracts and invitation for full paper submissions shall be final.
